Windemere Skye Makes It 13 in Atlantic Sires Stakes At Red Shores

SUMMERSIDE, PE – Windemere Skye delivered another dominant performance to keep her career perfect through 13 races Sunday afternoon in Atlantic Sires Stakes action at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

The $29,740 Atlantic Sires Stakes A-division for three-year-old pacing fillies in race 10 saw Windemere Skye ($2.10) continue her sensational career for driver Marc Campbell and trainer Earl Watts. Campbell brushed the daughter of Somewhere Fancy to the lead before the opening quarter and never looked back through fractions of 28.1, 57.2 and 1:27.3 before pacing home in 1:55.3. Alwaysinfullforce (Driven by David Dowling) chased gamely for second while Bakers Dozen (Corey MacPherson) completed the triactor. Windemere Farms of Springvale and Matt Burke of Stratford share ownership of the winner.

In $6,000 B-division action for sophomore fillies were won by Elm Grove Uncannie ($2.10) with Ken Murphy driving for Joe Baxter, Couldhavebeenalady ($5.50) in 1:57.3 for trainer-driver Paul Langille, Starship Sundancer ($4.30) in 1:59.1 for driver Adam Merner and trainer Watts and Saulsbrook Desi ($2.70) in a 1:57.2 victory for Langille and trainer Danny Romo.

The first $17,940 Atlantic Sires Stakes A-division for three-year-old pacing colts in race 3 produced an upset as Darbies Fancy ($12.20) rallied to win in 1:57.1. Gilles Barrieau was in the bike for trainer Bernard McCallum and owners Rebecca Mackenzie and Sandra O’Donnell of Nova Scotia. Zero Two Sixty (Dowling) was second with Sporty Anthony (Ken Murphy) third.

Windemere Britt ($8.70) captured the second colt A-division in race 7 for driver Paul Langille and trainer Kyle Williams. The son of Somewhere Fancy controlled every station in the mile before turning back heavy favourite Woodmere Mahomes (Barrieau) in 1:55.2. Goose Commander (Jason Hughes) finished third. Dads Without Abs of Fredericton owns the winner.

The $6,000 B-divisions for three-year-old pacing colts saw wins by Rollwiththewarden ($2.60) in 1:58.1 for trainer-driver MacPherson, Choose Me ($18.80) in upset fashion in 1:57.1 for Dowling and trainer Jennifer Doyle, along with Tobins Nibbler ($4.60) in 1:57.2 for trainer Ashley Gamester and driver Hughes.
