Atlantic Sires Stakes Colts Tackle Truro Raceway

The Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old pacing colts tackled the oval at Truro Raceway on Thursday evening, as part of Atlantic Grand Circuit Week harness racing action.
 
Colin N Down and Gilles Barrieau captured the first of four $6100 ‘A’ division events in a time of 2:00 for the Downey Stables of Quispamsis, NB.
 
The second ‘A’ division event went to Mighty Cowboy and driver Darren Crowe in 2:00.1.  The Bandon’s Cowboy colt  is owned by David MacDonald of Halifax, NS.
 
Rinaldo ‘Neldie’ MacDonald and his two-year-old colt Jigtime Jones crossed the finish in 2:00 in their division.  MacDonald of Antigonish, NS, shares ownership on the colt with Ian Tate of St. Andrews, NS.
 
The final ‘A’ division event on the card went to Tobinator and driver Ryan Ellis.  The duo came home in an impressive 1:58 for owners Robin Burke, Luke Burke, Perry Burke and Kent Livingstone.
 
Two $2500 ‘B’ division events rounded out the card going to IC A Free Spirit and Matts Tuition.
 
Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action resumes on Saturday evening at Truro Raceway when the three-year-old pacing colts roll into town.  First race post time on Saturday is 7 pm.
