Atlantic Sires Stakes Trotters Highlight at Inverness  Raceway

The Atlantic Sires Stakes trotters were a highlight on the Wednesday evening card of racing at Inverness Raceway.
 
Dusty Lane Galaxy and driver Gary Chappell captured the first of two divisions for two-year-old trotters in a time of 2:08 for owners Peter Buchanan of North Wiltshire, PE, and the Estate of George Boswall of Frenchfort,  PE.
 
The second two-year-old event went to B J Comanche and driver Clare MacDonald in a time of 2:06.4.  The trotting colt is owned by Bert Honkoop of Montague, PE.
 
The three-year-old trotters also had their opportunity to shine with Topway and driver Walter Cheverie taking first place honours in their division in 2:04.2 for owner Sandra White of Belle River, PE.
 
Meanwhile, driver-trainer Clare MacDonald won her second Atlantic Sires Stakes event of the evening with West River Xcel in 2:03.2.  The three-year-old trotter is owned by MacDonald’s West River Stock Farm of Antigonish, NS.
 
Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action will heat up again at Inverness Raceway on Sunday afternoon when the two-year-old pacing colts roll into town.  Three ‘A’ divisions will each go for a purse pool of $7220 and one ‘B’ division will go for $2500.
 
First race post time at Inverness Raceway on Sunday is 1:30 pm.
