Atlantic Sires Stakes Fillies Invade Inverness Raceway

Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old pacing fillies were in fine form at Inverness Raceway on Sunday afternoon.

Ruby Vance captured the first of three ‘A’ division events with Gilles Barrieau in the bike in a time of 1:59 for owner Wayne MacRae of Fall River, NS.  Coming home second was Gilda and driver Clare MacDonald and third was Blackriver Nannie  and Redmond Doucet, Jr.

The second $6920 ‘A’ event went to Malabrigo and driver Marc Campbell in 1:59.1 for owner Buntainwood Farm of Brackley Beach, PE.  Placing second was April Dawns Star and driver Mike Stevenson and third was Armed Force and Ronnie Matheson.

The final ‘A’ division event on the afternoon race card went to Southfield Sophie and driver Terry Gallant in 1:58.1 for Southfield Farms of Summerside, PE.  Second place went to Putyourwhipaway and Marc Campbell and third was Pictonian Amanda and Mike Stevenson.

Inverness Raceway will once again play host to Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action on Wednesday evening when the two-year-old pacing fillies roll into town.  Three ‘A’ divisions will each go for a purse pool of $7320 and a lone ‘B’ division will go for $2500. 

First race post time on Wednesday is 7:30 pm.
