Details Released on Atlantic Breeders Crown Banquet

Charlottetown, PE – Organizers are urging those interested in attending this Saturday evenings Atlantic Breeders Crown Banquet to purchase their tickets as soon as possible as sales to date have been very brisk. The banquet will be held Saturday, October 11, at 7:00 p.m. at the Howard Johnson Dutch Inn, Cornwall. Tickets are $30.00 and may be purchased at the Rewards desk at both Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park and Red Shores Summerside Raceway, and at the Charlottetown Vet Clinic.

 

During the evening, presentations will be made to all competitors in the Atlantic Breeders Crown Finals, as well as to four Atlantic Canadian families in recognition of their long term involvement in harness racing. The 2014 families are the Andrew family  from Prince Edward Island, the McDonald family of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Armstrong family from New Brunswick and the MacDonell family from Nova Scotia.

 

Four successful regional owners will also participate in a panel discussion on their careers. Panellists will be Clare MacDonald, Canada’s leading female driver and multiple stakes winner, along with Joe Kennedy (co-owner of Firms Phantom, who had the longest consecutive win streak in recent Maritime history); Eddie Doucette (co-owner of track record holder Elm Grove Inarush the leading money winning horse in Maritimes); and Derek Buntain, (owner of Malabrigo who went undefeated in her 3 year old filly campaign with 16 consecutive wins).

 

The weekend kicks off with the Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale Friday, October 10th at 2 p.m. at the Crapaud Agri-Plex. Complete weekend agendas are available at www.redshores.ca or www.peiharnessracing.com
