Atlantic Sires Stakes to Take a One Year Hiatus in New Brunswick

The Atlantic Standardbred Breeders Association (ASBA) and Horse
Racing New Brunswick (HRNB) have announced that the Atlantic Sires Stakes
program will take a one year hiatus in the province of New Brunswick this
year.

All Atlantic Sires Stakes events slated for New Brunswick for
the 2013 race season have been cancelled.  The cancellation of the race
season is due to insufficient funding from Horse Racing New Brunswick for the
2013 Atlantic Sires Stakes race season in that province.  Each province
participating in the program provides core funding for Atlantic Sires Stakes
events in each individual province and without this funding the ASBA is unable
to hold its events.

It is expected that a full slate of Atlantic Sires Stakes events
will take place in New Brunswick again next
year.

The 2013 Atlantic Sires Stakes race season will take place in
Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island as scheduled.
