Atlantic Sires Stakes Fillies Showcased at Truro Raceway

The first Atlantic Sires Stakes events of the 2015 race season got underway on Sunday, as the three-year-old pacing fillies were featured on the afternoon race card at Truro Raceway.

Three Pink Bows and driver Danny Romo captured the first of two ‘A’ division events taking home the winner’s share of the $10,640 purse.  The duo crossed the finish line in 1:59.2 for owners Tanya Tremblett of Sydney Mines, NS and Stevi Jardine of Georges River, NS.  Second place honours went to Miss Oromocto and third was Jann Down and Gilles Barrieau.

The second ‘A’ division event of the afternoon went to Thebigbamtheory in 1:58.4.  Ernest Laffin took care of the driving duties for owners Kelly and Cameron MacEachen of Truro, NS.  Woodmere Articblue and Danny Romo placed second and Casa Miasa and Bernard McCallum were third.

Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action will take a brief hiatus until the end of the month when the three-year-old pacing colts meet for competition at Inverness Raceway on June 28.
