The Atlantic Sires Stakes freshmen fillies put on an impressive show at Northside Downs on Saturday afternoon.

Jann Down and driver Gilles Barrieau captured their $9740 ‘A’ division event in 1:59 flat.  The two-year-old pacing filly is owned by Downey Stables of Quispamsis, NB.  Dusty Lane Bria and Kenny Arsenault were edged out by a nose to take second place, with Three Pink Bows and Mike Stevenson
capturing third.

The other ‘A’ division event on the afternoon card went to Swift Taylor and Mike Stevenson with the duo crossing the finish line in 2:00.4 for owners Boyd MacDonald Produce, Crapaud, PE, and Daniel Ross, Belfast, PE.  Second place honours went to Casa Miasa and Bernard McCallum and third went to
Ubettowin and Gilles Barrieau.

Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action returns to the North Sydney oval next Saturday when the two-year-old pacing colts meet for competition.
