Atlantic Sires Stakes Fillies Impressive in North Sydney

Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old pacing fillies posted some impressive times in harness racing action at Northside Downs on Saturday afternoon.

Moon Landing and driver Danny Romo took first place honors in the first of three “A” division events at the North Sydney oval in a time of 1:58.3 for owner Patrick Eastwood of Saint John, NB.  Coming home second was K D Go Onn and driver Clare MacDonald and third place went to Windemere Gem and driver Mark MacKinnon.

The second “A” division event on the card went to Honey Do Jigtime with Clare MacDonald in the bike setting a new lifetime mark of 1:57 for owners Morah Kerr of Greenfield, NS and Phonsie MacEachern of Port Hood, NS.  A new track record for three-year-old pacing fillies was also recorded in the books.  Crossing the finish line second was Bemused and driver Marc Campbell and third was Acton Normal and driver Shane Bernard.

Grayland Rain with Marc Campbell holding the lines won the final “A” division event in a time of 2:00.4 for owner Paul Gray of Pugwash, NS.  The second place finisher was Force of Fire and driver Shawn Lynk and third place went to Forthena and driver Clare MacDonald.

Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action continues this coming week during Atlantic Grand Circuit Week at Truro Raceway.

On Tuesday evening there will be ten Atlantic Sires Stakes events on the fifteen dash card, including two divisions each of both the two and three-year old trotters.  There will also be three “A” divisions and three “B” divisions of the two-year-old pacing fillies.

Post time on Tuesday evening at Truro Raceway is 7 pm.
