Atlantic Sires Stakes Fillies Featured at Truro Raceway

Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old pacing fillies put on an impressive show at Truro Raceway on Sunday afternoon.

Malabrigo and driver Marc Campbell captured the first of four “A” division events in a time of 2:00.3.  The filly is owned by Buntainwood Farm of Brackley Beach, PE.

The second event saw Southfield Sophie cross the finish line first in 1:59.2 with driver Terry Gallant in the bike for owner Southfield Farms of Summerside, PE.

Oduya claimed first place honors in another “A” division event in a time of 1:59.4.  The brown pacing filly is co-owned by driver Clare MacDonald of Antigonish, NS, and Morah Kerr of Greenfield, NS.

The final “A” division event on the afternoon race card went to A As Glory and driver Mike Stevenson in a time of 1:59.4 for owner Andrew Ward of Saint John, NB.

Points earned in each Atlantic Sires Stakes “A” event go towards earning a spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown championship.  This year’s event will be hosted by Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park on October 6th and 7th.
