Atlantic Sires Stakes Colts Showcased at Truro Raceway

The Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old pacing colts met for the second time this season on Thursday evening, putting on an impressive show at Truro Raceway.

Untouchable One and driver Kenny Arsenault captured the first of three ‘A’ division events in a time of 1:59 for the Dooley Boys Racing Stable of Halifax, NS.  Coming home second was The Rev and driver Danny Romo and Its My Turn and driver Jason Hughes finished third.

Woodmere Comical, with Shane Bernard holding the lines, took first place honours in the second $7020 ‘A’ division event.  The two-year-old colt crossed the finish line in 2:01.1 for owners Robert  MacNeil, Sydney Mines, NS, Joseph  MacNeil, Ingonish, NS and Bernard MacNeil, Miscouche, PE.  Placing second was Paraprosdokian  and driver Marc Campbell and third place was Libertys Art and Jason Hughes.

 

The third and final ‘A’ division event went to Accelerated Pace, with driver Mike Stevenson in the bike, in a time of 2:00.4 for owners Boyd MacDonald Produce of Crapaud, PE, and Daniel Ross of Belfast, PE.  Scamp Finesse and driver Clare MacDonald came home second and Watersides Kipper and driver Hilliard Graves was third.

 

Atlantic Sires Stakes action continues at Truro Raceway on Saturday evening when the three-year-old pacing colts meet for competition.  First race post time on Saturday is 7 pm.
