Atlantic Sires Stakes Colts Impressive in Inverness
Atlantic Sires Stakes colts put on an impressive show at Inverness Raceway on Sunday afternoon as five divisions of the three-year-old pacers took to the local oval.
Touch of Thunder took first place honours in his ‘A’ division heat, crossing the finish line in 1:59.3 with Brodie MacPhee in the bike. The ownership papers for the colt are held by Peter Smith, Charlottetown, PE, Don Smith Pownal, PE, Gerald Morrissey Vernon Bridge, PE and Larry Chappell Marshfield, PE. The event also saw a three way dead heat for second place with Mr Vaive, Super S Yzerman and Just A Professor crossing the finish line in unison.
The second ‘A’ division event of the afternoon race card went to Arties Magic and driver Todd Trites in a time of 1:57.3 for owners Windemere Farms, North Wilshire, PE and Clive Balderston, Moncton, NB.
Rancousy and driver Darren Crowe captured the third ‘A’ division event in 1:57.3 for owner Donald Charles Smith of Brookside, NS.
Meanwhile the first ‘B’ division event of the afternoon went to Post Haste and owner, driver, trainer Angelo Camilli of Sydney, NS.
Locky and driver Redmond Doucet crossed the finish line first in their ‘B’ division event for owner Lennan MacIsaac of Inverness, NS.
Atlantic Sires Stakes action returns to Cape Breton Island on Saturday when the three-year-old pacing colts and fillies meet for racing action at Northside Downs in North Sydney.
First race post time at Northside Downs on Saturday is 1 pm.
