Atlantic Sires Stakes Colts Impressive in Inverness

The Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old pacing colts put on an impressive show at Inverness Raceway on Sunday, as the track record for three-year-olds was equaled by The Rev.  The three-year-old pacing colt crossed the finish line in 1:56.3 in the final ‘A’ division event on the afternoon race card with driver-trainer Danny Romo in the bike.  The Rev is owned by Robert Skinner, Truro, NS, Jeffrey Skinner, Hammonds Plains, NS, Stephen Tufts, Truro, NS, and GLB Stable of Lakeview, NS.

Angelfire, with Ben Hollingsworth holding the lines, captured another ‘A’ division Atlantics Sires Stakes event in a time of 1:57.4.  The three-year-old colt is owned by Caneast Standards of Berwick, NS.

The third ‘A’ division event went to Watersides Kipper and driver-trainer Kenny Arsenault in 1:58.  The ownership papers for this colt are held by Hilliard Graves of Charlottetown, PEI.

Two Atlantic Sires Stakes ‘B’ events rounded out the race card as Mr Rock and driver Greg Sparling took first place honours in one event and Ghost Protocol and Ross MacInnis captured the second event.

Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action resumes next Saturday when the three-year-old pacing colts meet again at Northside Downs in North Sydney.
