Atlantic Sires Stakes Colts Dominate in Truro

Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old pacing colts dominated the race card at Truro Raceway on Saturday evening as part of Atlantic Grand Circuit Week harness racing action.
 
Mr Vaive and driver Bernard McCallum captured the first of three $6920 ‘A’ division events.  The duo crossed the finish line in 2:02.2 for owners Peter, Gregory and Debbie Francis of Windsor, NS.  Second place honours went to Woodmere Artisan and driver Paul Langille and third went to Silverhilldiamond and Gilles Barrieau.
 
Rancousy and driver Darren Crowe clocked the mile in 1:56 taking the second ‘A’ division event of the night.  The three-year-old colt is owned by Donald Charles Smith of Brookside, NS.  Touch of Thunder and driver Earl Smith and Super S Yzerman and Clare MacDonald came home second and third
respectively.
 
The final ‘A’ division on the evening race card went to Just A Professor with Clare MacDonald in the bike in a time of 1:56.4 for owners Creston Gillis, Belle River, PE and Michael and John Clarey, Montague, PE.  Rebelseven and driver Jason Hughes crossed the finish line second and Tobins Fusion and Gilles Barrieau took third place.
 
Driver Danny Romo won both of the $2500 ‘B’ division events with Wishes In The Rain and Romeo Lover.
