Atlantic Sires Stakes Colts Heading to Fredericton

Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old pacing colts will be showcased on the holiday card of racing at Fredericton Raceway on Monday afternoon.

Two “A” divisions will each go for a substantial purse pool of $9780 and one “B” division will go for $2000.

Points earned in each Atlantic Sires Stakes “A” division event go towards earning a coveted position in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown.  This year’s event will be hosted by Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park on October 6th and 7th.

First race post time at Fredericton Raceway on Monday is 1 pm.

Atlantic Sires Stakes Fillies Featured at Truro Raceway

Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old pacing fillies put on an impressive show at Truro Raceway on Sunday afternoon.

Malabrigo and driver Marc Campbell captured the first of four “A” division events in a time of 2:00.3.  The filly is owned by Buntainwood Farm of Brackley Beach, PE. 

The second event saw Southfield Sophie cross the finish line first in 1:59.2 with driver Terry Gallant in the bike for owner Southfield Farms of Summerside, PE.

Oduya claimed first place honors in another “A” division event in a time of 1:59.4.  The brown pacing filly is co-owned by driver Clare MacDonald of Antigonish, NS, and Morah Kerr of Greenfield, NS.

The final “A” division event on the afternoon race card went to A As Glory and driver Mike Stevenson in a time of 1:59.4 for owner Andrew Ward of Saint John, NB.

Points earned in each Atlantic Sires Stakes “A” event go towards earning a spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown championship.  This year’s event will be hosted by Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park on October 6th and 7th.

Atlantic Sires Stakes Fillies Heading to Truro Raceway

A large contingent of Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old pacing fillies are heading to Truro Raceway on Sunday for some serious harness racing action.

Thirty-three fillies are slated to race in four “A” divisions on the Sunday afternoon race card and two “B” divisions will round out the Atlantic Sires Stakes action.

This is the second time the fillies have met this season in an effort to capture points to earn a coveted spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown championship.  This year’s event will be hosted by Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park on October 6th and 7th.

Adding to the excitement at Truro Raceway will be driver Danny Romo’s attempt to capture his 3500th career win.  The Shubenacadie, NS, driver could achieve that milestone with a win on Sunday.

First race post time at Truro Raceway is 1:30 pm.
