Atlantic Sires Stakes in Abundance at Inverness Raceway

Inverness Raceway will be the place to be on Sunday afternoon, as an abundance of Atlantic Sires Stakes events will be highlighted on the afternoon race card.  The two-year-old pacing colts and fillies will both test out the Inverness oval and a total of seven divisions will take to the track.

The two-year-old fillies are meeting in a pair of ‘A’ division events, each going for a purse pool of $9760.  There will also be a lone $2500 ‘B’ division event.

Meanwhile the two-year-old colts will go in three ‘A’ division events worth $7440 each.  There will also be one $2500 ‘B’ division event.

This will be the third meeting of both the Atlantic Sires Stakes colts and fillies this season, and point standings are being eyed closely.  Points earned in each ‘A’ division event go towards earning a coveted spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships.  This year’s Weekend of Champions will be hosted by Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Thanksgiving Weekend.

First race post time on Sunday at Inverness Raceway is 1:30 pm.
