Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action heads to Saint John – see News for details.
Welcome
The Atlantic Sires Stakes program has been promoting the sport of harness racing for over forty years, while showcasing the best young horses in the region.
The program, which is sponsored by the Atlantic Standardbred Breeders Association, promotes the breeding of standardbred horses in the Atlantic Provinces and provides incentives for people to buy and race horses in our region.
The Atlantic Sires Stakes program is open to two and three-year-old pacers and trotters that were sired by a stallion registered with the program for the applicable breeding year. There are six divisions in the racing series, which will take place at eight racetracks in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island this year.
The Atlantic Sires Stakes program culminates with the Atlantic Breeders Crown championship each year. Participation in the championship weekend is determined by point standings at the end of the season, so every race counts!
The 2010 Atlantic Breeders Crown will take place at the Truro Raceway on October 9th and 10th.
The provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island
generously support the Atlantic Sires Stakes program. In addition, the Atlantic
Lottery Corporation contributes greatly to the success of the racing
series.
