WELCOMEThe Atlantic Sires Stakes program has been promoting the sport of harness racing for over forty years, while showcasing the best young horses in the region.
The program, which is sponsored by the Atlantic Standardbred Breeders Association, promotes the breeding of standardbred horses in the Atlantic Provinces and provides incentives for people to buy and race horses in our region. The Atlantic Sires Stakes program is open to two and three-year-old pacers and trotters that were sired by a stallion registered with the program for the applicable breeding year. There are six divisions in the racing series, which will take place at five racetracks in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island this year. The Atlantic Sires Stakes program culminates with the Atlantic Breeders Crown championship each year. Participation in the championship weekend is determined by point standings at the end of the season, so every race counts! The 2013 Atlantic Breeders Crown will take place at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park on October 12th and 13th. |
